The Original Pancake House isn't, in fact, a Dallas original. The original Original Pancake House first opened its doors in Portland, Oregon in 1953, but it got to Texas as quickly as it could. The first Dallas outpost of the restaurant opened its doors in 1987, and it's consistently been voted one of the city's best breakfasts by critics and diners alike.
As such, crowds flock to Original Pancake House's seven Dallas-area locations for syrup-drenched stacks of perfectly-griddled pancakes, omelets, and other breakfast favorites. Eater photographer Kathy Tran caught a behind-the-scenes look at Original Pancake House's Addison outpost, and it may induce serious cravings for pancakes, bacon, and eggs.
