Since opening in 2014, Bishop Arts bakery Joy Macarons has arguably been home to some of the city’s finest takes on the classic French cookie. Now, owner Liz Lanier will bring her macarons – and a few surprises – to a brand new neighborhood.
CultureMap reports that Lanier has signed a lease to open Joy Macarons on Lower Greenville. The second outpost will open in a former hair salon that is right next door to Dude, Sweet Chocolate, creating a one-stop-shop for a seriously indulgent dessert. Lanier says that the new location “won’t be an exact replica” of the Bishop Arts shop, but will feature on one of the original location’s most popular items – the macaron ice cream sandwich – more prominently.
Joy Macarons has come a long way since 2013, when it started as a stand at the Dallas Farmers Market before opening its first permanent location on Davis St. just a year later. No official timeline has been announced for Joy Macarons’ opening date just yet, but stay tuned for more updates.
