DOWNTOWN – Lakewood favorite Latin Deli will soon open a second location in Downtown. The second outpost will bring its cozy Latin-inspired cuisine and top-notch service to a prime piece of real estate across from the JFK Memorial and El Centro College, formerly a restaurant called Mello Cafe. Latin Deli expects to open its doors in Downtown by “early spring.” [CultureMap]

DEEP ELLUM – After launching their exciting new lunch menu earlier this week, Deep Ellum’s Filament will add brunch service starting this Saturday at 11 a.m. Owner Matt McCallister specifically requested “shit on a shingle,” a Southern bread, meat, and gravy dish that gets its name from Army slang, find its way to the menu. Brunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. [EaterWire]

OAK CLIFF – This weekend, Oak Cliff will get its very own farmers market, held in the parking lot of Cliff Temple Baptist Church. There, you’ll find T-Rex Pickles, One90 Smoked Meats, and treats from Kessler Pie Co. The market will open on the first Saturday of each month (which means this Saturday) from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. [Dallas Observer]
