In recent months, Dallas become a new home for restaurants across the country. Imports from Omaha (Blatt Beer & Table), New York (Shake Shack), and San Diego (Hash House A Go Go) will all open their doors in Dallas-Fort Worth in the coming months, and now locals can look forward to a forthcoming Southern California favorite that’s known for its fresh seafood.

Announced yesterday, Water Grill will open its first Texas location at 1920 McKinney Avenue, just north of Klyde Warren Park. The original Water Grill opened its doors in 1989 in Downtown Los Angeles, and has since expanded to four locations across California.

The Dallas outpost will be Water Grill’s first venture outside of the Golden State. "We could not be more thrilled to join the vibrant Dallas dining scene," said Sam King, CEO of King’s Seafood Company, which operates Water Grill. "We look forward to bringing our take on the freshest seafood selections from around the world to Uptown."

The menu will, of course, focus on seafood, including king crab legs, lobster, and Large Channel Island red sea urchin. Turf will also be on the menu, including dry-aged steaks and other prime meats. Cocktails include the notable Campfire Sling, mixed with straight rye whiskey, maple syrup, chocolate bitters, and scorched orange oil.

The Uptown location of Water Grill will occupy a massive 7,500 square foot space, which will include private dining rooms and seawater tanks that will feature seasonal displays of shellfish and other creatures of the sea. The concept is set to debut in Fall 2016.
