This Valentine’s Day, Two Dallas Establishments Encourage Singles To “Shred Your Ex”

Because free cocktails are the best revenge.

Say goodbye to your ex...forever.

If you’re single this Valentine’s Day, you might be feeling a bit salty. Maybe you’re mad that your ex dumped you right before the holiday, or perhaps you’re holding on to a much deeper grudge. Either way, two Dallas eateries will reward anyone flying solo on Valentine’s Day for destroying all memories of their exes.

Bring one (or more!) photos of your ex to be shredded in a decorated paper shredder at Uptown's Public School 214. Once you’ve said your final goodbyes to the one who broke your heart, redeem those memories for 50% off your first beer. The special will run all day on Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14, and no one’s going to judge you if you shed a few tears after unloading all that baggage.

At Bowl & Barrel, you’ll find an even better reason to avoid scraping the proverbial barrel for a last-minute date on Valentine’s Day. From 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Valentine’s Day (or Black Sunday, in this case), single ladies dine in free while showing off their best bowling moves. If you bring a photo of your ex to shred, you can claim a free drink at the bar, which you totally deserve after handling the end of a relationship in such a mature, adult fashion.

If you’re really trying to score a deal to soothe your broken heart but still too attached to those photos of your former beloved, you could also claim a free order of wings at Hooters. All you’ll need to do is “virtually” shred a photo of your ex on the Hooters website. It likely won’t have the same satisfaction as actually shredding a photo in person, but free wings are free wings.
