ADDISON – Thanks to their always-excellent fare, Canary By Gorji has stuck around Addison for more than a decade. Now, you can take some of Chef Gorji’s knowledge home to your own kitchen. In celebration of their 13th anniversary, the restaurant will host a cooking class where diners will prepare a 3-course meal featuring dishes like grilled avocado, along with “big pinot noirs” from Oregon’s Pioneer Wines. Classes will cost $110, and best of all, you get to eat the fruits of your labor. [EaterWire]

DEEP ELLUM – Dallas chef about town Russ Demers, most recently in the kitchen at Oak in the Design District, returns to Deep Ellum with a new meat-focused concept. The restaurant, cutely titled On The Lamb, will showcase Demers’ extensive experience in butchery throughout the restaurant, evidenced by the jars of beef jerky that will sit atop the bar for munching while drinking. The restaurant will open at 2614 Elm this spring. [CultureMap]

OAK CLIFF – Satisfy your Easter baked goods needs at Local Press + Brew on Saturday, March 26. Chefs Lily Hanson and Skye McDaniel will set up shop in the new juicery to offer chocolate pecan oat cookies, carrot cake, truffles, and other baked delights just in time for the holiday. You can also score jams, jellies, and floral arrangement to round out your needs for Easter dinner. [EaterWire]
