Texas is pretty much a no-brainer for any restaurant concept that’s built its brand around beef, and Dallas is a particularly fitting home. It’s also been a pretty big time for out-of-state concepts to capitalize on Dallas, growing food scene, evidenced by the number of restaurants that have announced plans to open up shop here in the past few months.
Now, a Los Angeles-based sandwich shop will continue that trend. Eater Los Angeles reports that Top Round, purveyors of roast beef sandwiches and shakes, will open their first out-of-state location in Texas at some point in the not-too-distant future. The announcement comes from Chef Steven Fretz, a prominent Los Angeles chef and partner in Top Round.
Clearly, Chef Fretz knows what's up:
Top Round has quickly become a local fave in Los Angeles thanks to their "chef driven fast food." Look forward to thick, handspun milkshakes, beef fat fried french fries, and of course, their slow-roasted beef sandwiches. Top Round also offers chicken sandwiches, salads, and (notably) a short menu of vegetarian options.
No word yet on when or where Top Round will open its doors in Dallas. Stay tuned for more details as this meaty story develops.
