TRINITY GROVES – Kate Weiser, the chocolatier known for her vibrantly painted bonbons and epic chocolate creations, got some pretty big recognition this week from Conde Nast Traveler. One of only three American chocolatiers on the list of the world’s best, Weiser’s punk-rock style was described by the publication as “exuberant and irreverent in style and taste.” [Conde Nast Traveler]

MARKET CENTER – Ser, the steakhouse that sits atop the Hilton Anatole, has hired a new executive chef. Chef Kevin Spencer comes to the steakhouse from Orlando, Florida, where he spent five years overseeing the Hilton Orlando’s six restaurants. [EaterWire]

FORT WORTH – The 2016 Fort Worth Food & Wine Festival kicks off next Thursday, bringing more than 100 chefs to Panther City. Look forward to the Festival’s signature events, like the BBQ Showdown event where pitmasters from Blacks Barbecue, Ten50, and more will duke it out for smoked meat supremacy.
