Because Dallas is always in need of excellent brownies, cakes, and other delicious baked goods, the arrival of SusieCakes is certainly welcome for carb enthusiasts. The California-based bakery will land in Preston Center next month, bringing its scratch-made sweets to Texas for the first time.

Announced today via press release, SusieCakes will open its doors at the corner of Luther Lane and Westchester Drive in Preston Center on Saturday, April 16. The bakery is best known for its layer cakes and frosting-stuffed cupcakes in flavors like Soutern Red Velvet and Tropical Coconut, all made with fancy ingredients like Guittard chocolate and European-style butter.

“Preston Center is an ideal location for our bakery because of its close-knit community,” SusieCakes founder Susan Sarich said in the release. “We are excited to be welcomed as a part of that and look forward to meeting our new neighbors. Friends don’t let friends eat desserts that are anything less than spectacular.”

The chain originally opened in Brentwood, California ten years ago, and has since expanded to a number of locations across California, including outposts in San Diego and San Francisco. Should you find yourself with a hankering for a cupcake on Saturday morning, SusieCakes will kick open the doors at 9 a.m.
