Thief Steals Pecan Lodge Sign; Leaves NSFW Self-Portrait Behind

Pecan Lodge is widely beloved in Dallas, but the Deep Ellum establishment has been targeted by thieves as of late. This morning, Pecan Lodge owners showed up at their barbecue joint only to find that one of its signs had been stolen, and replaced by some pretty unique artwork.

A post to Pecan Lodge’s Instagram account details the crime. Apparently, the framed sign was a replacement for some original artwork that had been stolen previously. Now, it’s an incredibly life-like rendering of (you guessed it) a penis. Slim’ Pickins indeed.

What do you call a person who steals a sign- which replaced the artwork previously stolen before it- and leaves a tiny self portrait in its place? Suffice it to say, the irony wasn't lost on us.

No word yet on what will replace this brilliant piece of artistic work, but it will no doubt contain plenty of Pecan Lodge’s signature snark.
