The arrival of Spring brings a host of exciting new restaurant concepts to Dallas. After a ridiculously busy winter packed with restaurant after restaurant opening their doors at breakneck pace, the blitz appears to be slowing down considerably. Still, there’s plenty to get excited about in the coming months, like "the best taqueria in Texas" and a brand new concept from one of Dallas’ most prominent chefs. Keep these five spots on your radar as we head into Spring.
Revolver Taco Lounge & Purepecha

This highly-anticipated Fort Worth export is slightly behind schedule, originally anticipated for a "late February/early March" opening. After landlord troubles, the original plan was to move Revolver Taco Lounge to a new home at 2701 Main in Deep Ellum, but owner Regino Rojas announced in January that the original Fort Worth location would also stay open even after the expansion to Dallas.

Chef Julian Barsotti’s (Nonna, Carbone’s) "Roman-style" tavern is still on track for a Spring 2016 opening. A job posting from February 23 indicates that the ownership is still in search of a management team for the concept. Sprezza will be the second concept to open in the new Maple Avenue Dining District, a $3.5 million dollar project from Crow Holdings, following 18th & Vine.

This Fort Worth barbecue trailer is headed for permanent brick and mortar digs, but they’ll be on wheels slightly longer than expected. Scheduled for an "early 2016" opening, construction is still underway at 1109 W. Magnolia. In the meantime, look forward to Heim Barbecue being open more than just 4 days a week, local beer on tap, and a dizzying selection of more than 150 bourbons and whiskeys.

Austin’s best stop for smoothies and vegan snacks is headed to Sylvan Thirty, scheduled for an Spring 2016 opening. Details have been hard to come by in terms of when JuiceLand will actually open, but when it does, Austin expats will have their own little slice of home at Sylvan Thirty, where JuiceLand will join Tacodeli and Houndstooth Coffee.

If all goes according to plan, Stephan Pyles will close his eponymous restaurant open for more than ten years on Ross Avenue this month. Pyles will return with Flora Street Cafe, a reinvention of the Texas cuisine that made him famous. A sneak peek event planned for May 18 will preview the concept with a 4-course dinner to raise funds for the North Texas Food Bank, but Pyles anticipated an April opening when the concept was announced last year.
