Long known for their chicken and rice plates and that world-famous white sauce, The Halal Guys will bring a brick-and-mortar location of their popular New York City food cart to Dallas this summer.

Announced today via release, NYC-based The Halal Guys have inked a deal with Fransmart to bring franchised locations of their restaurant to Dallas-Fort Worth. The chain has already set up shop in Chicago and Southern California, along with a location in Houston that opened earlier this year.

"We are honored and beyond excited to open Dallas’ very first The Halal Guys. We love our hometown and have always felt like Dallas–Fort Worth is a bustling and thriving foodie area," said operating partner Danny Bui in a statement. "Our loyal fans will no longer have to smuggle it back from New York City."

Bui says that the chain chose Lemmon Avenue because of its "accessibility to the major scenes of Dallas," noting that the restaurant is just a stone’s throw from Uptown, Highland Park, Knox-Henderson, and Deep Ellum. Though no hours have been announced yet, Bui does say that the Dallas location will stay open into the late night hours, which is probably the best news of the year.

The first location of The Halal Guys is expected to open at 5444 Lemmon Avenue in July. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting opening, and prepare to drown all your summer sorrows in gyros and that perfect garlicky white sauce.
