Brunch is generally considered a pretty indulgent meal. Aside from the fact that you’re drinking booze with breakfast foods, the French toast and all those hollandaise sauce-slathered dishes can quickly start to feel a little heavy.
For those who prefer a little lighter fare alongside their day drinking, Mudhen Meat & Greens offers a deliciously viable alternative.
Announced yesterday, the restaurant has officially launched weekend brunch service, available on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The menu, developed by Chef Suki Otsuki, features “clean and healthy produce, grains and proteins” capable of satisfying even the pickiest of eaters.
To be sure, Otsuki’s menu doesn’t skimp on flavor. Diners can look forward to Mudhen migas, made with Vital Farms eggs, raja, and organic corn tortillas topped with avocado-tomatillo salsa and green chili braised pork.
Traditionalists can dig into the James Bond Breakfast, a plate of scrambled (not stirred!) eggs, applewood-smoked bacon, whole-wheat toast, and black coffee. Also on offer is the cheekily-named green eggs & ham Benedict, which pairs Duroc ham with poached eggs and arugula-basil pesto.
