The macaron has cooled somewhat in terms of being the world’s hottest pastry, but the fancy French cookie is still plenty popular. As such, shops dedicated exclusively to the macaron have popped up across the city. One of the best among these is Joy Macarons, which has officially opened its second location.

Announced via release, Joy Macarons is officially serving up macarons and macaron ice cream sandwiches at 1927 Greenville Ave. Tucked right next door to Dude, Sweet Chocolate, it appears as if Lower Greenville is the city’s newest destination for a seriously decadent dessert.

“Our eyes were set on being among the amazing local restaurants and other businesses on Lower Greenville,” said Joy Macarons owner Liz Lanier. “We love the fun vibe and believe it is a great fit for our second store.”

The macaron ice cream sandwiches are a new addition to the menu, thanks to the new spot’s added freezer space. Lanier will craft ice creams made with seasonal fruit, Valhrona chocolate, and other top-notch ingredients in-house.

The Greenville outpost of Joy Macarons will also feature later hours – it’s open until 10 p.m. tonight should you find yourself with a late(r) night craving.
