Restaurateur Joe Palladino has long been at work on Dos Jefes, the upscale tequila and tapas bar that has officially taken over the space formerly occupied by Nick & Sam's Grill. This is the first venture of its kind for Palladino, who's had an incredible amount of DFW restaurant success with Nick & Sam's, Coal Vines, and most recently, Biergarten.
According to Palladino, Dos Jefes is inspired by a place he visited in Mexico City that had an "incredible energy" that was perfect for Uptown. That energy is evidenced by bottle service and a club-like atmosphere in which cuisine designed by Nick & Sam's chef Samir Dhurandhar will be served.
The brief menu features a variety of Mexican-influenced sushi rolls (yup, you read that correctly) and other light bites like ceviche. Cocktails start at $12 and include the Habibi My Love, mixed with anejo tequila, curry syrup, and blood orange liqueur.
Even better, the recipe for each cocktail is included with its description, just in case you happen to find your new favorite sip and need to mix it at home. Scope out the full menu for Dos Jefes below, and get ready to party.
