– Suburban fans of Dugg Burger, the chain known for its hollowed-out buns and array of wacky toppings, will be happy to know that the restaurant’s second DFW outpost opens in Plano this week. The location at 4701 Park will kick open the doors on Tuesday, May 10.

Hutchins BBQ has long been considered some of Texas’ best barbecue, and the team of Tim Hutchins and Dustin Blackwell will head to New York City to prepare an authentic smoked feast at the James Beard House next month. Before they head to NY, Hutchins will host a James  Beard Dinner in Frisco on May 19. Score your tickets to taste the fare before the big dinner via Eventbrite.

– Taverna Rossa Craft Pizza & Beer will open in Southlake on Thursday, May 19. The grand opening festivities kick off at 3 p.m. If you need incentive to head out to the ‘burbs, vouchers for free pizza handed out to the first 50 guests.

– A proposal that would have made booze more accessible in Frisco has been voted down. CBS 11 reports that any restaurant in Frisco who earns more than 50% of its revenue through alcohol sales will be forced to obtain a special use permit from the city. Proponents of the proposal estimate that Frisco will lose nearly $1 million in sales tax dollars from hypothetical liquor stores and bars.
