You'll have to wait a few days for those brisket tacos

In today’s dose of terrifying restaurant news, Lemmon Ave Tex-Mex institution Mia’s has been forced to close after a kitchen fire filled the restaurant with smoke.

The Dallas Morning News reports that the fire broke out around 11 a.m. Saturday, when Dallas Fire & Rescue was called to the restaurant. The blaze was extinguished by restaurant employees before firefighters arrived, and no one was injured.

In the meantime, the restaurant was forced to close to deal with damage caused by the blaze. “We had a small fire in the kitchen this morning but everyone is okay,” reads a post on Mia’s Facebook page. “We will be closing for a few days but will reopen Monday or Tuesday. Thank you for all the prayers and calls for concerns.”

No updates have yet been posted on when Mia’s will officially reopen, but Eater Dallas will keep you posted on when you can resume digging into brisket tacos and queso.
