Expansion is the word across the metroplex

Considering the boom of new restaurants opening across Dallas-Fort Worth over the past several months, it’s no surprise that some established concepts are looking to expand. On both sides of the metroplex, some of your favorite concepts will soon be moving into bigger, better homes.

Last November, Eater reported that Monkey King Noodle Company's would take its wares to a bigger space on Main St., and today, we've got a tentative opening date. CultureMap's Teresa Gubbins reports that Monkey King will make the big move over the first week of July.

Notably, this is just the first of many big moves from Monkey King Noodle Co.'s Andrew Chen. The Carrollton outpost of MKNC is still in the works, and Eater reported last month that Chen will operate a concept (though not necessarily MKNC) at forthcoming Plano food hall Legacy Hall.

Also on the move is Fort Worth’s MELT Ice Creams. Just in time for summer’s hottest days, the popular ice cream shop will open at 1201 W. Magnolia Ave with an expanded kitchen, patio, and perhaps most importantly, a bigger parking lot.

Both concepts will make their big moves in early July. MELT Ice Creams is set to open on July 1st, while Monkey King Noodle Co. will begin its quick transformation soon after.
