The long wait is officially over, Dallas. After a saga involving real estate woes and neighborhood scuffles dating back more than two years, Pie Tap Pizza Workshop is finally ready to open its doors.

CultureMap Dallas reports that Pie Tap Pizza Workshop will open at 1212 Oak Lawn Ave. next month. The first Pie Tap was supposed to open on Henderson Avenue, but concerns over parking derailed the project. That location will still open – perhaps in the next few months – but owner Rich Hicks decided to set up his first shop at this killer Design District locale.

As far as the cuisine is concerned, Pie Tap Pizza Workshop will serve pizzas (duh) and pasta, both of which can be ordered for delivery. To sweeten the pot, you’ll also be able to have beer and wine couriered over alongside your pie. Black Swan Saloon’s Gabe Sanchez has been brought in to develop a menu of cocktails, lending a bit of boozy cred to the new concept.

You’ve only got a few more days to wait for pizza & beer on demand – Pie Tap Pizza Workshop will serve its first slices on August 1.
