A total missed opportunity

In Texas for a series of fundraisers, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine made a stop at one of Dallas’ best Mexican spots – but he didn’t eat anything.

WFAA reports that Kaine and his Secret Service detail made a stop at the Bishop Arts outpost of Gloria’s Latin Cuisine on Wednesday afternoon. The visit was not part of a planned campaign stop, but a "spur of the moment" opportunity for Kaine to meet with customers at the restaurant.

Scope out video of the meet & greet below:

While the VP candidate was inside, his Secret Service detail called a tow truck to add air to the vehicle in which Kaine was riding. While he could have taken this opportunity to enjoy a margarita or ceviche tostada, Kaine instead left the restaurant without knowing the true joy of Gloria’s black bean dip.

Interestingly, this isn’t Gloria’s owner Gloria Fuentes’ first brush with political bigwigs. Earlier this year, Fuentes attended President Obama’s final State of the Union address to share her journey from undocumented immigrant to successful small business owner.
