Pizza enthusiasts, rejoice –– classic East Coast-style pizza will land in Plano this week, courtesy of Boston-born Dallas restaurateur Kenny Bowers.

Announced via release, Kenny’s East Coast Pizza will open its doors at Park & Preston in the Berkeley Square shopping center. The concept is a natural evolution for Bowers, who first opened Kenny’s Italian Kitchen back in 2011. The spot earned a measly one star from Dallas Morning News critic Leslie Brenner a few months after its opening, but the spot is still, five years later, frequently packed with neighborhood regulars.

The restaurant will serve a selection of 14” pizzas, in addition to classic favorites from Kenny’s Italian Kitchen. “Dallas is home to several artisanal or Neapolitan-style pizza places,” said Bowers in a statement, “We wanted to offer an exceptional East Coast pizza in a laid-back environment with service second to none.” Where booze is concerned, a full bar will be available alongside a selection of craft cocktails and martinis made with vodka that flows from a frozen Grey Goose tap.

Kenny’s East Coast Pizza will officially open for lunch and dinner service on Wednesday, August 24.
