The growth of late-night, somewhat stoner-centric pizza chain ZaLat has happened quite rapidly. A sibling to Vietnamese pho spot DaLat, the first location opened on Fitzhugh Ave in April of last year, with two Plano outposts that soon followed. Now, the empire is growing.
A post to Zalat’s Facebook page announces the arrival of the burgeoning chain’s fourth location at 1701 South Lamar. The pizza joint’s latest location sits next door to new bar Mac’s Southside, which took over the former Absinthe Lounge space earlier this summer.
Considering exactly how much booze is going to be consumed at Mac’s, the opening of a late-night pizza spot next door seems like both a brilliant business move and a solid way to soak up all those shots of Fireball you down every weekend. Of course, because it’s ZaLat, you could also just choose to booze at home and have a pie delivered directly to your door.
For now, ZaLat’s South Lamar location will open for lunch at 11 a.m. and keep the ovens on for late-night revelers until 2 a.m.
