There are a lot of things worth picking a fight over, but one Forney man didn’t exactly choose his battles wisely after being denied a plate of free enchiladas.
According to inForney, the incident occurred around 9 p.m. last Thursday, when the as-yet-unnamed man walked into the Forney location of Cowboy Chicken and demanded free chicken enchiladas from the cashier. When the employee denied his (bold) request, the two began to argue.
The drunken enchilada enthusiast, who apparently was visiting Forney from his home in Terrell, had a friend in tow who tried to smooth over the situation by getting the increasingly belligerent man out of the restaurant. When he did, the two men (of course) started to physically fight. When the scuffle was over, the friend was covered in blood and had a “huge chunk of ear missing.” Yikes.
Just when you thought this story couldn’t get any stranger, the man will likely not face any criminal consequences. The victim did not press charges, and was transported to Baylor Medical Center. No word yet on how his ear is doing. As of this morning, Forney police have designated the case “inactive.”
