For fans of crispy fried chicken and super spicy wings, the arrival of Bonchon in 2013 was met with plenty of enthusiasm. Unfortunately, all of that happiness was stolen when the chain shuttered just six months later. Now, it appears as if Bonchon is making its way back to DFW.
A spokesperson for Bonchon tells Eater that the chain is plotting its return to DFW, starting with its first location set to open in The Colony. When asked by Eater why Bonchon chose such a far-flung location (especially in comparison to the former outpost’s plum location on Greenville Ave), the spokesperson pointed to the explosive growth the northerly ‘burb has seen in recent months.
“We are planning several locations in the DFW area, we chose The Colony as the 1st location, because we love the growth that is happening in the area with new businesses and residential areas,” said marketing director Megan Bares. “It will be located off of 121 between 423 and Plano Parkway, so it will be easy access for a quick lunch or a dinner with friends and family.”
The first Bonchon outpost is expected to open by the end of the year, with more to come at as-yet-unnamed locations in the coming months.
