Dallas Will Soon Have Its First Tiki Bar Since Trader Vic’s

The former Three Sheets space will soon have a tropical vibe.

New cocktails, and a new look.

Despite the national trendiness of tiki cocktails, Dallas is sadly devoid of a solid place to drink fruity umbrella drinks. That will all soon change as Pilikia plans to open its doors in a familiar old haunt.

GuideLive reports that East Dallas bar Three Sheets will soon close its doors to make way for Pilikia, a tiki-themed bar that will occupy a space close to Three Sheets, or, “just a stone’s throw away from Ross Avenue.”

The new concept is the brainchild of Three Sheets owner Patrick Tetrick, and SBBC Hospitium, whom you may recognize from Truth & Alibi and The Tipsy Alchemist. The cocktail program will be helmed by Aaron Wang, a bartender at The Tipsy Alchemist who will serve as Pilikia’s general manager. Expect an atmosphere that will be “more tropical than Three Sheets, but not campy.”

Pilikia isn’t the only tiki bar in the works for Dallas. Earlier this year, Eater reported the impending arrival of Swizzle Luau Lounge, a “Polynesian pop-up” from barman Marty Reyes and his wife Jen that will soon find its way to a permanent home.

At present, Pilikia is set to debut before the end of the year. No opening timeline has yet been announced for Swizzle Luau Lounge.
