If you’ve ever been eating dinner in a restaurant and thought “wow, a bunch of fake guns would really make this place a lot more exciting,” a new concept headed to Dallas might be right up your alley.
According to its website, gun-themed restaurant Modern Round has a Dallas outpost in the works. The Peoria, Arizona-based eatery describes itself as a “virtual shooting lounge where technology and entertainment meet delectable food, fine wines, and craft cocktails.”
Which means that you’ll be able to shoot laser guns at a virtual screen while you eat Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls and sip on pitchers of sangria. According to Forbes, the guns at Modern Round “have the size and weight of real guns,” and some are loaded with CO2 chambers to offer a realistic “just shot” feeling. Diners choose from a variety of games and “real life police and military shooting scenarios” to act out while (after?) they eat.
Outside of paying to play, you’ll also have to plunk down $5 for a membership card that grants you access to the shooting games and scenarios. And, perhaps ironically, Modern Round doesn’t allow actual firearms inside the building. “Since Modern Round locations have replica firearms, we never want to take a chance of someone mistakenly confusing a real firearm for one of our replica firearms,” says the restaurant’s FAQ.
No word yet on when Modern Round will make its Dallas debut, but Eater has reached out to the restaurant for more details.
