Highland Park has Mustang Donuts, Addison has Jarams, and Carrollton has Mozart Bakery & Cafe. But for too long, Allen has been deprived of a truly great doughnut shop. Fortunately, that will all soon change.

Announced via release, North Carolina-based dough purveyor Rise Biscuits and Donuts is headed to Texas, and its first location will open its doors in Allen later this year. Rise is known for its creative, always-changing menu of doughnut flavors, like crème brulee and pineapple basil, alongside heartier options like buffalo fried chicken and roasted pork loin sandwiches.

“Donuts and biscuits are scratch-made daily and we’ll be introducing new flavors and unique menu items to the area,” says franchise owner Dax Ferguson in a statement. No word yet on what exactly the menu will look like, but expect for Rise Biscuit & Donuts to make its DFW debut in early April.

Try and wait patiently, and pray to the doughnut gods that this spot will open on time.
