It’s no surprise that many Dallas restaurants experience delays before getting their doors open, but that’s been especially true for the arrival of Chef Nick Badovinus’ Town Hearth. It was announced in 2014, and now the doors are finally ready to open.

The Dallas Morning News reports that Town Hearth will begin dinner service tonight at 1617 Market Center Boulevard in the Design District. Badovinus describes the restaurant as what would happen “if you bring a vintage steakhouse to a beach party,” and will serve up a variety of hearth-grilled meats, oysters and other delights from the sea via a raw bar, and more.

Badovinus’ new venture occupies a 6,000-square foot space with a massive dining room, with Town Hearth’s namesake fire pit serving as the room’s “focal point.” Originally, the restaurant was expected to open its doors in March 2015, but no reason has been given for the massive delays.

Town Hearth will open for dinner service at 5 p.m. tonight, and will be open Mondays through Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday & Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
