Looks like December Is When NYC Chain Mamoun’s Falafel Arrives in Dallas

The first non-East Coast location of the chain will open in West Village

Mamoun’s Falafel

Here’s an update on the timeline for the Dallas arrival of famed falafel NYC spot Mamoun’s. The chain’s first Texas restaurant was supposed to open over the summer, but now it’s looking like a December opening for the store at 3839 McKinney Ave, Ste #145 in West Village is more likely. Barring any unforeseen construction setbacks, that is.

Mamoun’s calls itself North America's oldest Middle Eastern fast-casual restaurant, and it’s got big expansion plains. “This will be their first location off the East Coast and the first of many future Mamoun's Falafel openings out west,” the chain’s PR rep tells Eater of the Dallas outpost. Expect to find shawarma, hummus, baba ganouj, baklava, and, of course, falafel on the menu.

Another falafel chain had a tough time in Dallas in 2017. The city’s first and only outpost of Amsterdam Falafelshop shuttered in Deep Ellum this summer after only a year in business. The owners cited lack of demand for the closing.
