Soon, so soon

It’s almost Nuggz time. Beloved Dallas institution Zoli’s NY Pizza Tavern just announced the opening date today for its new location in Addison. The pizzeria helmed by New York native Lee Hunzinger will reopen to the public on Friday, November 3 at 14910 Midway Rd.

This is Zoli’s 2.0: the original outpost of the Cane Rosso sibling restaurant shut down in 2016 due to property development. Now, after construction delays, Zoli’s New York-style pizzas will be back in a little more than a week.

"After a long delay due to permitting and construction, we are thrilled to finally unveil the new version of Zoli's to Dallas," owner Jay Jerrier explained in a press release. "The delay gave us plenty of time to travel to the East and West Coasts to find inspiration for the new menu, and we really have the dough dialed in after working with Brian Spangler from Apizza Scholls in Portland, Oregon. The large space and kitchen gives us the flexibility to create and offer so many of the things that both Lee and I ate growing up in the Northeast."

As for the look of the new location, a few iconic pieces of decor made the move from the old spot to Addison, including its iconic unicorn head and marquee sign. Expect to find vaulted ceilings and out-there features like a 10-person purple velour banquette and a 10-foot Clay Stinnett painting of the "Last Supper" featuring Star Wars characters.

Zoli’s menu highlights will include those fried mozzarella Nuggz, zeppole, and pies like the Carbonara, the Brian Luscher with mozzarella, sausage bolognese, and creamy ricotta, and the Pizza Loves Emily with mozzarella, roasted mushrooms and habanero honey, finished with cold cheese.
