Following the arrival of Deep Ellum’s STIRR, Milkshake Concepts has announced that it will open Nikkei, a Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant, this month.

A press release announces the restaurant’s impending arrival at 2404 Cedar Springs Road, along with new details on who will run the kitchen at Nikkei. Chef Nick Harrison, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef who most recently helmed the kitchen at TJ’s Seafood, will be joined by Chef Ross Demers, formerly of On The Lamb.

“We’ve spent countless hours ensuring every aspect of the restaurant and experience is flawless and believe we have assembled the perfect culinary and management team to present this concept to the city,” said Imran Sheikh, co-owner of Milkshake Concepts in a statement. “With incredibly flavored proteins, seafood and vegetables as well and sushi, we feel this is an ideal cuisine to add to Dallas’ thriving dining scene.”

Nikkei’s menu will feature a variety of raw offerings (think Texas Waygu tartare topped with soft-boiled quail egg and a selection of crudos) alongside heartier options, like pancetta-wrapped black cod. Sushi will, of course, also be on offer, along with desserts and a menu of fancy cocktails.

No opening date has yet been announced for Nikkei, but look for it to make its debut before February is over.
