In keeping with Dallas’ culinary scene’s continual march northward, massive housing development Austin Ranch will soon be home to four exciting new restaurants, all housed in shacks.

Announced via release, The Shacks at Austin Ranch will be a massive, eight-acre project that includes six restaurants situated around a large open-air patio. The Shacks will take up residence near Indian Creek, and overlook a large public dog park, which means that you’ll be able to let your dog run wild while digging into tacos, seafood, and most excitingly, ramen.

In addition to a new outpost of popular Richardson late-night spot OMG Tacos, James Beard Award nominee and chef Teiichi Sakurai will open a ramen house at The Shacks. The as-yet-unnamed project is Sakurai’s third DFW restaurant, joining ritzy Arts District stunner Tei-An and cozy Sylvan Thirty ramen spot Ten.

Restaurateur Frank Carabetta will also open two restaurants at The Shacks — one “burger and bar concept” and a Cajun-inspired seafood eatery similar to Oak Cliff’s Pier 247. According to the real estate developer, future phases of The Shacks will include even more restaurants, along with “non-traditional” restaurants.

Construction is currently underway on The Shacks, and the aforementioned concepts are set to make their debut in April 2017.
