We’ve all been there. Sometimes, you’re sitting in your car with a bag of Whataburger fresh from the window, and you feel like singing the praises of the world’s best fast-food chain. Unfortunately, though, no one will ever be able to top a McKinney man’s soulful ode to the star of Whataburger’s breakfast menu, the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit.
Last week, Pastor Fred Thomas, who goes by “The Pastor Fred” online, posted a video of his gospel-tinged tribute to what is probably the state’s most popular drunk food on Facebook, and it quickly went viral. The song, called “Something About This Biscuit” has racked up nearly five million views, thousands of shares, and may very well become the official anthem of Whataburger enthusiasts everywhere who appreciate the magic of the HBCB.

In addition to the sheer joy in Thomas’ voice as he sings the good word, the pastor also offers a solid nugget of Whataburger advice in his song, telling its adherents to ask for extra honey butter sauce to ensure that the biscuit isn’t dry.
No word yet on whether or not the Corpus Christi-based chain has reached out to Thomas to retain the rights to “Something About This Biscuit” for future commercials, but that needs to happen ASAP.
