After a earning reality TV glory and cutting its teeth in Houston, a new-to-Dallas chef will soon open the city’s newest food truck.

This spring, Italian-inspired food truck The Lucky Fig will make its way to Dallas. The truck is operated by chef and cookbook author Luca Manfé, who won season four of Gordon Ramsay-hosted food reality show MasterChef. Manfé originally opened the truck in Houston, but didn’t find the city a viable market for his fare. After closing up the truck at the end of last year, Manfé decided to head to Dallas to give The Lucky Fig a second chance.

Housed in a converted 1954 Ford UPS truck, The Lucky Fig’s menu offers “seasonal and organic featuring panini, homemade pasta, meatballs, rice balls and polenta fries,” all based on recipes from Manfé’s My Italian Recipes cookbook. The truck’s schedule is still being finalized, but diners can look for The Lucky Fig to make appearances at Klyde Warren Park and Truck Yard on the weekends.

If all goes according to plan, The Lucky Fig is expected to make its Dallas debut in April. Stay tuned for more details on its arrival.
