Chef John Tesar may not still be in the running for this season’s winner of Top Chef, but that doesn’t mean that things are going as poorly for the Knife chef outside the kitchen. In addition to overseeing his growing empire, the reality TV star will soon become Dallas’ newest chef-author.
D Magazine reports that Tesar’s steak-focused cookbook, titled Knife: Texas Steakhouse Meals at Home, now has an official release date. The book has long been a work in progress, due in part to the passing of Joshua Ozersky, Tesar’s original co-writer who died unexpectedly in 2015. Jordan MacKay, who co-wrote Aaron Franklin’s barbecue Bible, later stepped into that role.
The Amazon listing for Tesar’s book indicates that Franklin’s praise will appear on the printed book. ““I've had some phenomenal meals at Knife,” reads the blurb. “Tesar really knows how to cook a steak, and this great book shows you how he does it!” According to its description, the book will feature recipes for the restaurant’s avocado fries, roasted okra, and bacon jam alongside preparations of beef, lamb, pork, and veal.
Knife: Texas Steakhouse Meals At Home hits the streets on May 2. In the meantime, you can pony up $30 to preorder a copy ahead of its release.
