DFW’s steakhouse scene is firmly entrenched, but a swanky newcomer from Houston will soon shake up the area’s meat game.

Announced via release, B&B Butchers & Restaurant will open its doors at The Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth later this year. The Houston-based restaurant and butcher shop opened its first location in 2015, and has since become one of only a handful of restaurants in Texas certified to serve legitimate Kobe beef.

No word yet on whether or not B&B Butchers will seek that same certification in Fort Worth, but Japanese and American Wagyu will definitely be on offer. It’s a natural move for B&B Butchers owner Benjamin Berg, who uses a slaughterhouse in Fort Worth to process his restaurant’s beef.

B&B Butchers will occupy a massive space near Neiman Marcus at The Shops at Clearfork, including a 7,400 square foot downstairs dining room and butcher shop, a 2,500 square foot mezzanine with seating, and an outdoor patio that overlooks the shopping center’s park. Four private dining rooms will be available to rent for fancy shindigs.

B&B Butchers is expected to make its Fort Worth debut in September 2017. Stay tuned for more updates.
