The Star in Frisco, the Dallas Cowboys’ massive new entertainment & dining district, is rapidly nearing completion. Cane Rosso, Neighborhood Services and Chef Jose Andres’ much-anticipated Zaytinya are already expected to debut at the development later this year, and now a new spot that hails from North Carolina will join the mix.

A representative for Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar tells Eater that the Southern eatery will open at The Star in Frisco later this summer. The restaurant was started in Asheville, N.C. more than fifteen years ago, and has since expanded to locations across North Carolina along with outposts in Colorado, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The restaurant is known for its hearty Southern fare, served for lunch, brunch, and dinner, like fried green tomatoes and nachos topped with pimiento cheese dip. Main dishes at other outposts of the restaurant include venison served with foie gras dirty rice, shrimp & grits, and a vegetarian cauliflower “steak.”

Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar is expected to make its debut at The Star in July 2017.
