After nearly three years of operating on McKinney Avenue, So & So’s is just about ready to call it quits.
A post to This & That Hospitality’s Phillip Schanbaum’s Facebook page announces the shutter, which will come later this month. According to Schanbaum, the restaurant will close its doors for a while to “remodel and re-concept.” When it first opened in 2014, the Uptown hotspot earned acclaim from critics under the direction of Chef Nick Amoriello, but later became known mostly as a spot to drink copious cocktails.
So & So’s will be replaced with a new bar called Parlay, which will open in collaboration with SBBC Hospitum, the group behind Truth & Alibi, Pilikia, and other popular Dallas nightlife spots. No word yet on when Parlay is set to make its debut, but details on the new bar are expected soon.
So & So’s will host its last day of service on Tuesday, May 16. This weekend, the bar will host a farewell celebration. We’ll update this post as more details become available.
