Get Pumped for Another Velvet Taco; Jason Boso Joins Grandscape, and Other Intel

A few openings and a switcheroo

Grandscape is getting a familiar name.
Quincy’s Official

Escape Hatch Dallas has word that there will be another big name added to Grandscape, the $1.5 billion Warren Buffet development in The Colony. Jason Boso is bringing both Quincy’s Chicken Shack and Truck Yard to the development; Truck Yard should open later this year, with Quincy’s slated to open sometime next. There should also be a non-Texas chef being added onto the project, though those details are still pending.

Also over at Escape Hatch is news that Velvet Taco is opening a second Dallas location — this time in Upper Greenville. The VT folks are taking over the former space of Pollo Tropical. And while details are fuzzy, it looks like Velvet Taco is likely to be expanding much more in the city, as folks repping the restaurant told the blog: “Wait till you see what we have planned. Velvet Taco is about to really take off.”

And finally, over in Bishop Arts, the young, quickly shuttered vino spot WinePoste has changed dramatically, reports Dallas Observer. New owners Nick Mulenos and sommelier Ian Montgomery have changed the name to Neighborhood Cellar, and the vibe is quite different now, too. The new approach — which combines a wine bar with a retail outlet — is more casual and inviting, with a series of catered pop-up dinners to come.
