Details are scant at present, but it looks as if Shoals DE, a brand new bar from the mixologist behind Proof + Pantry, will soon make its debut in Deep Ellum.

An Instagram account created for the forthcoming bar indicates that it will open its doors at 2614 Elm Street, near Big Guys Chicken & Rice. Longtime Dallas barman Michael Martensen is involved with the project, but it’s unclear whether or not he’s consulting or will have an ownership stake in Shoals DE.

The forthcoming cocktail spot takes its name from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, a city with an impressive musical history — Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, and countless others have recorded there — and home of the legendary Fame Recording Studios.

Check out this peek into the bar’s design direction below:

Shoals DE appears to be in the early stages of development, but Eater has reached out to Martensen for an opening timeline. Stay tuned for more details.
