Renowned chef Akira Back is bringing a new restaurant to the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. Akira Back: Authentic Japanese Cuisine will open in The Colony’s Grandscape development next year, CultureMap first-reports.

Back was born in Seoul, Korea, and grew up in Aspen, Colorado, where he launched a professional snowboarding career before becoming a chef. He’s appeared on Iron Chef America and currently operates an international empire that includes restaurants in Las Vegas, Seoul, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Dubai. The Grandscape eatery will be his first location in Texas.

The restaurant will be located along The Boardwalk and offer seasonal Japanese fare with Korean influences, according to a release. Diners can also expect a range of sakes, wines, and cocktails.

In addition to the Japanese eatery, Grandscape also revealed two additional food and beverage tenants — Andretti Grill and Windmills Craftworks. The grill is part of a larger Andretti Indoor Karting and Games entertainment facility and will offer brick oven pizzas, smoked ribs, and a full bar. Founded in Bangalore, India, Windmills Craftworks will showcase a live music and books alongside food and craft beer.

Both Akira Back and Windmills are expected to debut in 2018, with the Andretti facility launching in 2019.
