Dallas already has a few restaurants dedicated to the humbly delicious grilled cheese sandwich, but a new spot called Melted will soon join the city’s cheesy sandwich scene.
A newly-minted website for the forthcoming sandwich shop announces that it will kick open the doors at 1715 South Lamar Street in the Cedars in the coming weeks. Melted will serve up a menu of cheekily-named sandwiches, many of which have vaguely stoner-inspired names.
Diners can look forward to menu items like the Wake & Bacon, or two sunny-side eggs, thick-cut bacon, jam, and two different types of cheese served on sourdough bread. The Blaise N’ Chicken will feature buffalo-style fried chicken, celery-carrot slaw, and mozzarella served on a baguette. There will also, of course, be ranch.
In addition to the sandwiches, Melted will also serve up an interesting menu of cocktails, one of which features vodka that has (somehow) been infused with the flavor of grilled cheese. Appearing in the Meltini, the cocktail is rimmed with a balsamic glaze and tiny bits of bacon. For the less adventurous, simpler sips like a cucumber margarita and white wine sangria are also on offer.
Melted has not yet announced an opening date, but it is currently expected to open in June. In the meantime, you’ll just have to drool in anticipation of all those cheesy sandwiches.
