Next month, long-established Arlington truck Bobaddiction will set down permanent roots in Deep Ellum.
Bobaddiction owner Randy Hu tells Eater that the new tea and sweet shop is just about ready to kick open the doors at 3014 Main, taking over the space formerly occupied by Monkey King Banana Stand. According to Hu, the truck originated in Arlington in 2013, and has since expanded to two trucks, a kiosk on the University of Texas at Arlington campus, and a central prep kitchen.
Considering that it’s already too damn hot outside, Bobaddiction will serve as a solid spot to cool off. Look forward to drinks like Vietnamese iced coffee, lychee green tea, and Thai iced tea. Boba, grass jelly, and coffee jelly (among other options) can be added to each drink. The spot will also offer shaved ice (in both fruity and chocolate flavors) and ice cream, along with uber-trendy bubble cones.
Bobaddiction is set to open on June 24. In the meantime, scope out the menu of drinks, snacks, and panda-emblazoned merch that will be on offer.
