Victor Tangos Resurrects Drag Brunch

The queens return later this month

What’s better than booze, brunch and drag queens?

Victor Tangos is picking up the drag brunch mantle after the abrupt closure of Cedar Grove this week.

The Henderson Avenue stalwart already had plans to launch their own drag brunch before Cedar Grove’s shutter, reports the Dallas Voice. “We had no idea that Cedar Grove was going to close when we starting planning Drag Brunch,” Victor Tangos manager Heather Borges told the paper. “We have been big fans of the drag brunch they do and we are so bummed they are closing.”

Cedar Grove was home to Dallas’ finest brunch with performances from the city’s best drag queens before it was even called Cedar Grove. The series existed back when the restaurant was still DISH Cedar Springs, and always attracted a dedicated following. Whether or not the series will have the same life at a new location remains to be seen.

The first iteration of Victor Tangos’ drag brunch will be hosted on Sunday, June 11 with performances from Krystal Summers and Chanel LaMasters, but it’s already sold out. The series will return on July 9 with two shows, and reservations can be made by calling the restaurant. After that, the series will continue throughout August.
