Thanks to construction delays, Tupelo Honey’s first Texas location at The Star in Frisco won’t open its doors this summer as originally planned.
A representative for the North Carolina-based Southern restaurant tells Eater that it won’t be ready until later this year, tentatively planning for an opening this fall. The delays could have something to do with the extremely ambitious interior that Tupelo Honey is planning, including a window-lined bar that provides a killer tableside view of the field and its very own mini-Jumbotron for showing Cowboys games. It will also sport private dining spaces, one indoor bar and one outdoor bar, a charcuterie and seafood bar.
When Tupelo Honey does make its Dallas debut, the spot will serve up its menu of Southern classics with a little Texas inspiration, along with brews and spirits from local purveyors. Once open, Tupelo Honey will be open for lunch and dinner daily, and brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
Fortunately, it appears that Tupelo Honey’s arrival could coincide with the return of football season, which seems like pretty good timing.
