Just days before its planned opening, new Greenville Avenue restaurant Feed Company was robbed of pricey bottles of bourbon.

The theft occurred early Wednesday morning, when thieves broke into the restaurants and filled up two of the bar’s trash cans with bottles of bourbon, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page. “Even after that weak attempt, they barely dented our bourbon selection,” it reads.

According to CultureMap, Feed Company is a new bourbon-obsessed eatery that will open at 5631 Alta Avenue, formerly home to Thai restaurant Nandina. The spot will serve a pretty broad range of dishes, from Southern shrimp and grits to street tacos and charcuterie, along with a now slightly-less-diverse selection of brown liquors.

Despite this setback, Feed Company still plans to kick open the doors on Friday, June 9 at 4 p.m.
