Continuing the parade of Austin-based restaurants with plans to expand in DFW, popular spot The Hightower is plotting an expansion to Dallas.
A tipster pointed Eater in the direction of a newly-created Instagram account established for The Hightower’s Dallas location. The empty account doesn’t offer much insight, but a representative for the restaurant tells Eater that The Hightower is “looking at” making the move to Dallas, but wouldn’t confirm the location or any further details.
In Austin, the restaurant is known for its self-described “New Texas Cuisine” born from the mind of Chef Chad Dolezal. The menu features dishes like queso fundido, fried Gulf oysters, and a double-patty burger topped with fried egg aioli and pimiento cheese. According to Eater Austin, it’s a favorite of famed pitmaster Aaron Franklin, who praises The Hightower’s brisket sandwich.
It’s early yet, but stay tuned for more details on The Hightower’s potential arrival in Dallas.
