After nearly three months of searching, Downtown’s Lark On The Park has hired Ryan Barnett as its executive chef.
After original chef team Melody and Dennis Bishop departed for a new project back in April, the Klyde Warren Park-adjacent eatery struggled to find a new head chef. After their departure, Wynne stated in a press release that “in this era of “hop-scotching chefs,” finding someone to permanently take the reins was proving tricky.
Chef Ryan Barnett is a Dallas native who’s worked at some of the city’s best restaurants, including stints at Flora Street Cafe and Stephan Pyles’ now-shuttered San Salvaje. Before that, Barnett worked as a private chef in Deep Ellum, and spent time in the kitchen at Nick Badovinus’ Neighborhood Services.
Meanwhile, former Lark chefs Melody and Dennis Bishop are plotting a new brasserie that is set to open on Knox Avenue in the former Chili’s space. That restaurant is expected to make its debut sometime in early Fall.
