After ongoing construction slightly delayed its debut, Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar is finally ready to open at The Star in Frisco.

The restaurant is set to arrive next month, occupying a plum location in the middle of the Dallas Cowboys’ massive development at 6725 Winning Drive in Frisco. Originally, Tupelo Honey expected to open in the summer, but developers weren’t able to complete the space on the timeline that was first announced. Perhaps it took a little longer than expected to install that gigantic, Jumbotron-style television that is a focal point of Tupelo Honey’s interior.

Thomas Robey, who spent time in the kitchen at vaunted New Orleans restaurant Commander’s Palace, has been hired as the restaurant’s executive chef. As far as the food is concerned, diners can look forward to Southern fare from the North Carolina export, like fried chicken dusted with honey powder, burgers made with Texas Akaushi beef, and pimento-cheese topped nachos. The bar will serve up a menu of cocktails, beer, and wine, along with some pretty compelling drink specials. During weekday lunch hours, martinis are just $0.75.

Tupelo Honey will kick open the doors on Thursday, September 14. The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
