The spot vacated by Little Woodrow’s near Bryan Place will soon be taken over by a new restaurant and beer garden called Ross & Hall.
The new restaurant from State & Allen owner (and cross-street enthusiast) Jonathan Calabrese aims to bring a neighborhood restaurant and drinking destination to the area, which is just outside the confines of buzzy Deep Ellum and Downtown. According to CultureMap, Ross & Hall will be similar in concept to his other restaurant, State & Allen, which has long been a neighborhood destination in Uptown.
Little Woodrow’s, a Houston export, opened in 2016 and closed this May after a bumpy entrance into the Dallas market. The sports pub, known for its craft beer selection and steak night specials, struggled to attract crowds even before news that one of its locations outside of Dallas had instituted a ban on face and neck tattoos went viral. Then, an after-hours shooting left one bar employee injured last December.
Ross & Hall plans to open by the end of August at 3300 Ross Ave.
